Abstract
Embracing the philosophy and values of an open source approach to Library systems is one thing, putting that aspiration into practice and making it work is another. At Te Mātāpuna Library & Learning Services, using open source software like Koha has changed the way we work. Our successes in areas such as Recalls, Acquisitions, Special Collections and the integration of Koha and Vufind have encouraged us to:
Collaborate within our Library, working together to identify and prioritise enhancements and fixes.
Develop partnerships
Ensure the work we do contributes to the community.
Develop our own solutions and expertise.
We have built our capacity to develop the tools our users need, and to ensure a flourishing sense of ownership over our systems among our staff.
