Speakers

Heather Rommens, Lisette Scheer - ByWater Solutions

Abstract

This year, Koha is celebrating 25 years since its creation in New Zealand in January 2000. Over the years, this revolutionary ILS has given us a glimpse of the future: open-source, intuitive library software that is highly customizable for libraries and users of all types and sizes. Now the question is, how can we continue to improve upon an ILS that is so close to perfection? In this presentation, we will provide an analysis of thousands of Bywater Solutions support tickets, discussing the primary Koha features and functionalities that our partners are submitting support tickets about, as well as how those features might be improved. This insight into the Koha user experience can provide an opportunity for the Koha community to focus development and improvement in these areas, further solidifying Koha’s place in history as the world’s first, and best, open-source ILS.
